email rec. by Teri, reposted here by Wayne at Teri's request.

Dear Teri,

I am a friend of Pat (Bratmus). I tried to sign your guest book, but it wouldn't let me.

I am so sorry for your loss. I lost a stepson at 23 years old to a drug overdose. He also loved tattooing and a good artist like your son.

I know everyone tells you how they are in a better place, etc., etc. It doesn't help the fact that we miss them so much.

However, I can tell you from first hand experience, your son is happy and in a better place. If not for dreams of Donnie's father (DonSr.,), my Mom and Dad. I would not be here. I had liver cancer. If not for dreams of them for over a month, I would have never known I had this rare form of cancer. So God does work in mysterious ways. I don't know why one is chosen to stay and one to go home. We all will know someday.

God Bless you. I still miss Don and Donnie and there is not a day that goes by that I don't miss them. But, I feel sorry for me, not them.

Betty

I just read your poem in this mornings paper. Your words "the living without" part is so true.
Our son, Dan, died in January at age 25. He too was a surfer and wakeboarder here in Stuart.
My prayers are with your son and family. Laura

I came upon this site by accident but i'm glad i did. This has really touched me and its so inspiring to see so many people come together in memory of one person who they all love and miss dearly. I lost two friends quite some time ago and got over it slowly but this site just makes me realise how precious life is and how precious those people were to me. Thankyou

I stumbled upon this website by accident, and it inspired me greatly. I lost my best friend 4 yrs ago in grade 11, and since then i've slowly gotten over it, but it's great to hear how much Tommy meant to everyone on this site, because it reminds me of the friend i lost and how much he meant to me. I wish i could've known Tommy, because he sounds like a great guy and i play guitar and sing in a band too. So it would've been awsome to jam with a guy like that. Peace

Dear Voorhees Family,

It seems like a lifetime ago when Tommy and I used to run around the neighborhood, build forts in your backyard, or go golfing all day. Havent spoke to you guys in years but wanted to drop a line and say hello, and hope that all is well.

Sincerely,

Josh McCormill

Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow;
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain;
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft star that shines at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there, I did not die.

I was just browsing on the internet and I came across this. I also had a son Tommy that had passed away at 18 on August 4,2005,and I know the pain a person is in when losing a son. It's a pain that noone can ever replace. I feel your heartache.

Hey Tommy, Haven't wrote you in awhile, sorry dude but my daughter Emily has been keeping me busy, she is six months old now and every day I show her your picture and tell her that your her angel watching over her, and she always smiles at your picture, Dude I miss you more and more everyday, It seems just like yesterday you were tryying to teach me how to surf ,and you could always make me laugh even if you did'nt say anything at all, I hope Emily grows up to be as wonderful and good hearted as you are, and you bet Im going to put her in surfing. Well tommy I love you and miss you more than words can say, Please watch over my baby girl and help her down the right path , love ya dude
